What must I do to be saved?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved! (Ac.16:30-31)

 

 If you are sincerely asking this question then you have been granted space to repent of your sins by the Spirit of God. And as the apostles answered the question above- we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.

What do we believe about Jesus Christ?

 I declare unto you the gospel by which also ye are saved; how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. (1 Cor.15:1-3)

 What do the scriptures say about the Lord Jesus? Jesus Christ is Lord of all! (Ac.10:36) He is the Lord from heaven. (1 Co.15:47) He is God in the flesh. (Jn.1:1,14, 1 Tim.3:16, 1 Jn.4:2) He is the Son of the Living God. (Mt.16:16-17, 1Jn.4:14-15, 5:1) That through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. (Ac.10:43) When we have faith in the shedding of his blood (Rom.3:25) we are believing that the sacrifice of himself on the cross made propitiation or appeased God’s justice and wrath for us. He reconciled us to himself in the body of his flesh through death, to present us holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight (Col.1:21-2). Having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile us unto himself (v20). God himself declares ‘their sins and iniquities will I remember no more’ (Heb.10:16-20).

 Not only did Christ die and was buried- he rose from the dead the third day (Lk.24:45-7, Ac.2:30-36) that we can be justified and righteous before God (Rom.4:24-5:1,8-10). For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Rom.6:23). For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (Jn.3:16) And so if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Rom.10:9-10) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (v13).

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God (1 Jn.5:13). If you believe these things that were written and preserved to us by Almighty God you will be saved. With God all things are possible (Mt.19:26) and all things are possible to him that believeth (Mk.9:23). If you believe God will save you because he said he would- then you will be saved.

Now find other bible believers, other Christians and get into a church to learn and grow in God’s life and grace. And be baptized according to his command (Mt.28:18-20, Ac.2:38, 41, 8:36-8).
