Pride

 

 

 A good definition of pride could be getting out from under rightfully delegated authority (not usurpers). Usurping, or swelling of the self will and purpose of the presumptuous, seeking to magnify themselves over against others. Puffed up and hearing no one but themselves; envious. It is to be held in contempt.

Job 33:17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

Envy

Job 5:2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

HUMILITY as the opposite of Pride
