Humility
Humility may be understood as placing oneself under properly delegated authority. In contrast to pride which would be usurping authority and self will.
If humility is staying in your proper realm of authority
or honor then humiliate is when someone takes away your proper realm of
authority or honor.
-Bob was humiliated by Fred who took credit for the victory Bob had secured.
Exodus 10:3 And Moses
and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of
the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
Leviticus 26:41 And
that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land
of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled,
and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
Deuteronomy 8:2-3 And thou shalt remember all
the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to
humble thee, and to prove
thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether
thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Proverbs 16:19 Better it
is to be of an humble spirit
with the lowly, than to divide the
