Humility

Humility may be understood as placing oneself under properly delegated authority. In contrast to pride which would be usurping authority and self will.

If humility is staying in your proper realm of authority or honor then humiliate is when someone takes away your proper realm of authority or honor.
 
-Bob showed great humility when he refused to take credit for the victory.

-Bob was humiliated by Fred who took credit for the victory Bob had secured.
 

Exodus 10:3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

Leviticus 26:41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:

Deuteronomy 8:2-3 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.  And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Proverbs 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Numbers 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
