the which thou hast not laboured

(Jonah 4)

 

That for which thou hast not laboured, that gift which was given thee from above

The power to think and to reason, that person which moves thee to love

 

That for which thou hast not labored is that which is subject to time

Say not ‘tis beyond his reach’ or ‘he’ll not attain what is mine’

 

That which came up in a night, it belongeth not unto thee 

 

Doest thou well to be angry? Thine heart thy Maker doth see

 

Thine eyes shall see thy teachers, which shall take thee where thou wilt not go

Pains and affliction shall visit and teach thee what thou dost not know

 

That the power to think and to reason, that person which moves thee to love

Is that for which thou hast not laboured, and a gift which was given thee from above
