“Drunken Glory” -whose God is their Belly

Romans 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Philip. 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

It is an interesting study in scripture to research the Belly or Bowels (KJV) and its connection to the soul which contains various emotions.

BELLY/ SOUL

Psalm 31:9 Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.
Psalm 44:25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
Proverbs 13:25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
Habakkuk 3:16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.
John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

BOWELS/SOUL

Genesis 43:30 And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.
1 Kings 3:26 Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
Job 30:27 My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.
Psalm 22:14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
Song 5:4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.
Isaiah 16:11 Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-haresh.
Jeremiah 4:19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trump, the alarm of war.
Jeremiah 13:17  But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord's flock is carried away captive.
Jeremiah 48:36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.
Lament. 1:20 Behold, O Lord; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
Lament. 2:11 Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.
Col. 3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
1 John 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

Also interesting is recent research indicating How the Gut's "Second Brain" Influences Mood and Well-Being (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/gut-second-brain/; also-
https://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/201111/your-backup-brain)
This quote is of interest- “Although its influence is far-reaching, the second brain is not the seat of any conscious thoughts or decision-making. "The second brain doesn't help with the great thought processes…religion, philosophy and poetry is left to the brain in the head," This would be true unless you substitute rational thought for emotional experience and as a way to decide truth (e.g. Romanticism- http://www.philosophybasics.com/movements_romanticism.html; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanticism).

So once we mix these ingredients together we are able to create through suggestion altered states of mind- at will. For example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsqZYezp_38&spfreload=5

Take this mixture and place it in a church setting with extreme emphasis on loud music with half baked ‘prophets & teachers’ and you can get just about any blasphemous thing to manifest:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNGPA6Idopg
Which is degenerating now into this- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBVc35P62jc

What’s next when people worship emotional experience as the Spirit of God and exalt manifestations above scripture?

I’m sure we will see.
