The
Night Seasons
As
we see the moonlit clouds anointed by her fair light,
Softly
glowing, silver lined with the skies make radiant the night. As we stand the pleasant breeze warmly doth embrace us.
The shadows falling from her light do quietly engrace us.
The
people that are close to us glow softly to our eyes.
The
ones who’re far away from us blend into obscuring guise. But watch the sky and clouds so move, magnificently painted.
And nothing seems the same although we nightly are acquainted.
Does
time now hold its peace for us or does it only seem,
Almost
a novel memory, almost a vivid dream?Everything alive with light yet the quiet doth distill.
Enchanted scene doth fascinate and we are children still.
How
beautiful the night can be when the lesser light doth rule.
It
seems we’ve touched eternity, but we mustn’t play the fool. The light doth slowly fade and the path the dark’s obscuring.
The shadows join together til we have no more assuring.
Even
the clouds we see ally to cover from us the moon.
We
know we’ll see the light again, but cannot tell how soon. There is still beauty all around as our reins guide in the night seasons.
And there are still answers to be found, though we may not know the reasons.
What does this poem mean?
ReplyDeleteHi. Basically as a Christian when you go through dark times there is still beauty all around, we just have to learn to see it (Rom.8:28) in those you love for example. But even when the moments get darkest we can still find our way by his Spirit and word in our hearts; note the Psa.16:7 (kjv) reference.
ReplyDeleteParts of it are describing bright moonlit nights with the skies full of moving clouds and the light effects and affects on us and everything around.
Hope this helps.
