Pre-Trib Rapture versus Post-Trib
Coming
Contradistinction
We are approaching this study as the Jews
should have approached the study of the first coming of Christ. There were 2
sets of prophecies which did not seem to be compatible but even contradictory
(Jn.12:34, Mt.11:3, Ac.1:6) concerning Christ suffering and dying for sins but
destroying the wicked out of the land and reigning as King over all the earth.
Both of these series of prophecies
from the Old Testament were true but needed to be rightly divided. This is how
we examine the returning of the Lord Jesus to earth. We do not use the verses
we like to cancel the ones that don’t fit. We put them together and let God be
true.
We address other issues such as the rapture in Matt.24 here; also the 7th trump, 2 Thess.2 here, Imminence vs prophecy here, and the order of the resurrection here. 1. The Church is another entity than Jew and Gentile.
2. The Day is at Hand- This must therefore be imminent
3. We Are Looking for Christ Now- therefore his appearing is imminent
4. We are to be Desiring that day
5. Peace and Safety- something not compatible with the end of the tribulation
6. Can escape all these things
7. Resurrected and taken up to heaven
8. Wedding of bride- (the church is not Israel)
9. All the church resurrected and changed (thus do not marry and bear children)
1.
The Church is another entity than Jew and Gentile-
(Jew and Gentile are equal in one body in the church) This contrast is vital to
understand the pre-trib rapture.
The church began to be built by Jesus (Mt.16:18) by the revelation of who Christ is (Mt.16:16-7, 1 Jn.4:2, Jn.8:24). This was after his appearing in the flesh. (Rom.16:25) Christ is the chief cornerstone (1 Cor.3:11, 1 Pt.2:4-8) with the apostles, prophets and teachers as the foundation (Ac.2:41-7, 1 Cor.12:28, Eph.2:20, 4:11-3). It is perpetuated by the ministry of the word of the gospel (Mt.28:19-20, Lk.24:46-7, Ac.2:41-7) since the church has the keys to kingdom of heaven (Mt.16:19, 18:17-20,1 Tim.3:15) and edifies and perpetuates itself (Eph.4:16). The church is the city/bride (Eph.5:28-32, Rv.21:2).
The church is a mystery body (Eph.3:3-6, 5:32, Col.1:26-7, 1 Tim.3:16) which contains Jews & Gentiles made equal in standing (no genealogical significance) regarding covenants and promises (1 Cor.12:13, Col.3:11, Gal.3:27-8, Eph.2:14-15, Ac.15:8-11) until the fulness of the Gentiles are saved (Rom.11:11,25,28,30). It is not nor does it contain the nation of Israel who independently have a standing with God based on the fathers (Rom.11:25-31). The church embodies grace and prudence or wisdom not contained in the salvation of the physical descendants of Abraham; i.e. Israel (Eph.3:6,21, 1:6-13, 2:11-19, Rom.11:30-3). After the Gentiles are fully come in the nation of Israel finish their prophecies (Rom.11:25-7, Dan.9:24). The remnant (Rom.9:27, 11:5, 7) of the whole house of Israel cannot be the whole house of Israel (Ezek.37:11, 39:25-9). The remnant of Israel is in the body of Christ which is mostly Gentile.(Rom.11)

Cor.10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles,
nor to the church of God:
Acts 15:7-9 And
when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and
brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the
Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God,
which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even
as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their
hearts by faith.
Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter
opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of
persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and
worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by
one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles,
whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
This occurred after the
resurrection- John 7:37-39
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of
the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost
was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor
Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye
are all one in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:11 Where there
is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian,
bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Ephesians 2:11-22 Wherefore
remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called
Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by
hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens
from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ
Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For
he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall
of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the
enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in
himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he
might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity
thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar
off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have
access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no
more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the
household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In
whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the
Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of
God through the Spirit.
Ephesians 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and
partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the
same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
mostly Gentile-
Romans 11: I say then, Hath God cast away
his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of
the tribe of Benjamin.2 God hath not cast away his people which
he foreknew5 Even so then at this present time also there is a
remnant according to the election of grace.7 What then? Israel
hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it,
and the rest were blinded.11 I say then, Have they stumbled
that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is
come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.12 Now
if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the
riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 25 For
I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye
should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to
Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles become in.26 And so
all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the
Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:27 For
this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.28 As
concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the
election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.
Romans 9:24-33 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the
Gentiles? As
he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people;
and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place
where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called
the children of the living God. Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the
children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: For he will finish
the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord
make upon the earth. And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a
seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. What shall we say
then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained
to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which
followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of
righteousness.
Romans 10:19-21 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke
you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will
anger you. But
Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was
made manifest unto them that asked not after me. But to Israel he saith, All day long I have
stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
The church reigns over Israel-
Matthew 19:27-28 Then
answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed
thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto
them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the
regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also
shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Revelation 21:12-14 And had a wall great
and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names
written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of
Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three
gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the
names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore,
if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a
peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Deuteronomy 4:20 But the Lord hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even
out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
Deuteronomy 7:6-9 For thou
art an holy people unto the Lord thy God:
the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above
all people that are upon the face of the earth. The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more
in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But
because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn
unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you
out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the
hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and
mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand
generations;
Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou
art an holy people unto the Lord thy God,
and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all
the nations that are upon the earth.
Deuteronomy 26:18-19 And
the Lord hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath
promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments; And
to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name,
and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken.
Deuteronomy 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the
voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command
thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high
above all nations of the earth:
v13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and
not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if
that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God,
which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
1 Kings 8:53 For thou didst
separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance,
as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our
fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.
Psalm 148:14 He also
exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the
children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.
Isaiah 41:8 But thou,
Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my
friend.
Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the Lord that
created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have
redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Isaiah 60:3 And the
Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Isaiah 60:9-16 Surely the
isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons
from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified
thee. And the sons of strangers shall build up thy
walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee,
but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. Therefore thy gates
shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may
bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be
brought. For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee
shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. The
glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box
together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of
my feet glorious. The sons also of them that afflicted thee
shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow
themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of
the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel. Whereas thou
has been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee
an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations. Thou shalt
also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and
thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy
Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Isaiah 61:6 But ye shall be named the
Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the
riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
Isaiah 66:22 For as the new
heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the
Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Jeremiah 10:16 The portion
of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is
the rod of his inheritance: The Lord of hosts is
his name.
Jeremiah
31:35-7 Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the
moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the
waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before
me, saith the Lord, then
the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
Thus saith the Lord; If heaven
above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I
will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith
the Lord.
Jeremiah 33:9 And it shall
be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the
earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear
and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto
it. v24-6 Considerest
thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my
people, that they should be no more a nation before them. Thus
saith the Lord; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not
appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; Then will I cast
away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his
seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause
their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
Zephaniah 3:20 At that time
will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you
a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your
captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.
Zechariah 2:8 For thus
saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which
spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
2.
The Day is at Hand- This must therefore be imminent:
(at hand means imminent Matt.26:45-7 Then cometh he to his disciples, and
saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands
of sinners. Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me. And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of
the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from
the chief priests and elders of the people. Mark 14:42-3 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand. And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas...)
Romans 13:11-12 And that,
knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we
believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of
darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
James 5:8-9 Be ye also patient;
stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge
not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge
standeth before the door. (Note that ‘before the door’ is a phrase
indicating imminence as here in Mt.24:33- So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is
near, even at the doors. Also see Mk.13:29.)
Philippians 4:5 Let your
moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. (The imminent coming of
Christ should excite fear and godly sorrow [2 Cor.5:10-11] to repentance and
soberness- Luke 21:34-6, Lk.12:45-6, Rom.13:12-14)
1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye
therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
Revelation 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus
Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and
signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who
bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of
all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they
that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written
therein: for the time is at hand.
(things which ARE Rv.1:19 Write
the things which thou hast seen, and the
things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; )
Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from
whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come
unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except
thou repent.16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly,
and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.22 Behold,
I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great
tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.25 But that
which ye have already hold fast till I come.
Revelation 3:3 Remember
therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If
therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt
not know what hour I will come upon thee.10 Because thou hast
kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of
temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon
the earth.11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou
hast, that no man take thy crown.
Revelation 16:15 Behold, I
come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he
walk naked, and they see his shame.
Revelation 22:6 And he said
unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy
prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.7 Behold,
I come quickly: blessed is he that
keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.10 And he saith
unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.12 And,
behold, I come quickly; and my
reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.18 For
I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book,
If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:20 He
which testifieth these things saith, Surely
I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Rom.16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly...
1 Cor.7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short:
Quickly means at hand, imminent:
John 13:27-30 And after the
sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly… He then having received the
sop went immediately out: and it was
night.
Acts 12:7 And, behold, the
angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote
Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
Shortly:
Gen.41:32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the
thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
2 Tim 4:9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
3 Jn.14
But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face.
Phil 2:24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.
Mark 13:32-37 But of that
day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven,
neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when
the time is. For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far
journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every
man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye
therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at
midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And
what I say unto you I say unto all,
Watch.
Luke 12:37 Blessed are
those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say
unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and
will come forth and serve them.
Luke 12:40-41 Be ye
therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. Then
Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
Luke 12:46 The lord of that servant will
come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware,
and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 But of the times and the
seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as
a thief in the night.
Acts 1:6-7 When they
therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at
this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto
them, It is not for you to know the
times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
The Day is Not at Hand- therefore this must be the
Post trib:
2 Thessalonians 2:2-3 That
ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word,
nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let
no man deceive you by any means: for
that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that
man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Luke 21:8-9 And he said,
Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am
Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. But
when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but
the end is not by and by.22 For these be the days of vengeance,
that all things which are written may be fulfilled.30 When
they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now
nigh at hand.31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come
to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
Mark 13:7 And when ye shall
hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must
needs be; but the end shall not be yet.10 And
the gospel must first be published
among all nations.24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light,26 And then shall they see the Son of
man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.29 So ye in
like manner, when ye shall see these
things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
Matthew 24:6 And ye shall
hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but
the end is not yet.8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.15 When
ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the
prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)29 Immediately after the tribulation of
those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be
shaken:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch
is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:33 So
likewise ye, when ye shall see all these
things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
3. We
Are Looking for Christ Now- therefore his appearing is imminent:
Titus 2:13 Looking for that
blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ; (Looking for the blessed hope which is comforting [1 Th.4:18] could not
be confused with being troubled and soon shaken in mind, thus Titus 2:13 cannot
be the same event as 2 Thess.2:2-3. The hope is of resurrection as in 1
Jn.3:2-3 is before the wrath to come- 1 Thes.5:8-9, 1:10, Rom.13:11.)
Mark 13:33-37 Take ye heed,
watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son
of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority
to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch
ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or
at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest
coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
(Matthew 24:42-51 Watch
therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come… Therefore be ye also
ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh…The lord of
that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour
that he is not aware of Matthew 25:13 Watch
therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man
cometh. -These admonitions would have no relevance to 2000
years of believers if they were only written to post or mid tribulation saints.
Also they would not apply to tribulation age believers who indeed know his
return is after the tribulation of
those days, for presumably if they read these verses they read the preceding
chapter. Plus Matt.24 is not a complete revelation as Jn.16:12 would indicate.
Also by considering the chapter internally we see relative peace and safety in
v38 which does not comport with the great tribulation described in v21. Again
the warning of his sudden coming as a thief in v42-51 would not seem to be like
a thief to pre-tribulation saints or most of church history, when there are
numerous signs preceding his coming listed in the other parts of the chapter.
These do not indicate contradiction in Matt.24 but that there is a missing
harmonizing truth which is found in Luke’s account- see the next example.)
Luke 21:36 Watch ye
therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to
pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to
wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which
delivered us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 And
the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and
soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 3:5 And the
Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for
Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:7 So that
ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1 Corinthians 11:26 For as
often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death
till he come.

Tim. 6:14-15 That thou keep this commandment without spot,
unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which
in his times he shall shew, who is
the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Pet. 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to
the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus
Christ;
‘We’- himself possibly:
Philippians 3:20 For our
conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so
shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold,
I shew you a mystery; We shall not
all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1 John 2:28 And now, little
children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his
coming.
The life to come- not the life that now is- but that to come in the
resurrection:
(1
Tim.4:8…having promise of the life
that now is, and of that which is to come.)
Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves
in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Colossians 3:4 When Christ,
who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
2 Corinthians 5:4 For we
that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be
unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
Crowned at his appearing:
2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth
there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:
and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for
when he is tried, he shall receive
the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Looking for Christ Then-
thus NOT imminent for us now:
Luke 21:28-32 And when these things begin to come to
pass, then look up, and lift up your
heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And he spake to
them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When
they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now
nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to
pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I
say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 24:29-30 Immediately
after the tribulation of those days
shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars
shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And
then shall appear the sign of the Son of
man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they
shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory.
Mark 13:24-26 But in those
days, after that tribulation, the
sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And
the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be
shaken. And then shall
they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

4.
We are to be Desiring that day:
Revelation 22:20 He which
testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was
once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin
unto salvation.
2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up
for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall
give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
1 Thess.4:17-18 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught
up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall
we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Not desiring that day:
2 Thessalonians 2:2 That ye
be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor
by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
Amos 5:18-20 Woe unto you
that desire the day of the Lord! to what
end is it for you? the day of the Lord is
darkness, and not light. As if a man did flee from a lion, and
a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a
serpent bit him. Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in
it?
Jeremiah 17:16 As for me, I
have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired
the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before
thee.
Matthew 24:19-22 And woe
unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But
pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For
then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the
world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those
days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's
sake those days shall be shortened.
Luke 21:22-23 For these be
the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But
woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days!
for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
5.
Peace and Safety- something not compatible with the end of the
tribulation:
(Matthew 16:2-3 He
answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair
weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be
foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can
discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? –Yes, we can discern the times.
And peace and safety is not great tribulation nor can it be confused as such.)
2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the
fathers fell asleep, all things continue
as they were from the beginning of the creation.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 But of
the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For
yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the
night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as
travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (they will be cast
into great tribulation- as in Rev.2:22)
days vs. day- times & seasons
Luke 17:26-28 And as
it was in the days of Noe, so shall
it be also in the days of the Son of
man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were
given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood
came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the
days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted,
they builded;
Matthew 24:37-38 But
as the days of Noe were, so shall
also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that
were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in
marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
Luke 21:34 And take
heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with
surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
day & hour
Matthew 24:32-36 Now
learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth
forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when
ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily
I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be
fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall
not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not
the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 25:23
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour
wherein the Son of man cometh.
These admonitions would not make sense to believers
before the tribulation period if his coming was only in a post tribulation
scenario.
Great tribulation- nothing normal or peaceful
occurring:
Matthew 24:21 For
then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the
world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Matthew 24:29 Immediately
after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers
of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mark 13:19 For
in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the
creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
Luke 21:25-26 And
there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon
the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves
roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those
things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Daniel 12:1 And
at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the
children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was
since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people
shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Jeremiah 30:7 Alas!
for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's
trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
Rev.6:4
And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given
to him that sat thereon to take peace
from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given
unto him a great sword.
6:14-17 And
the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain
and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and
the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men,
and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the
rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us,
and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath
of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able
to stand?
(Notice they are eating and drinking
with surfeiting and drunkenness as Belshazzar (Dan.5:1-4) before the
handwriting on the wall, but they are beside themselves with terror as he was
after the handwriting in v6- “Then the king's countenance was changed, and his
thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his
knees smote one against another.” The feasting stopped.)
Also see Isa.13:5-11, ch.24, Joel 2, Most of the book of
Revelation, Daniel 7-11, etc.
6. Can
escape all
these things:
Luke 21:36 Watch ye
therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to
pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
This is a conditional promise to stand before the Son of man unlike Mt.25:31-2.
(All includes the
beginning of sorrows:
Luke 21:9 But
when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things
must first come to pass; but the end
is not by and by.
Matt.24:8 All
these are the beginning of sorrows.
Luke 21:22 For
these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be
fulfilled.
Luke 21:28 And
when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads;
for your redemption draweth nigh.)
Zephaniah 2:1-3 Gather
yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; Before the
decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger
of the Lord come upon you, before
the day of the Lord's anger come
upon you. Seek ye the Lord,
all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness,
seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger.
Isaiah 57:1-2 The righteous
perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none
considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He
shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his
uprightness.
Psalm 27:4-5 One
thing have I desired of the Lord,
that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold
the beauty of the Lord, and to
enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide
me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall
set me up upon a rock.
Isaiah 26:19-20 Thy
dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and
sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth
shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter thou into thy
chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little
moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Proverbs 11:8 The
righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 And now ye know what withholdeth that
he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity
doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of
the way. And then shall that
Wicked be revealed…
1 Thessalonians 5:4-9 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that
day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of
light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore
let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For
they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the
night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the
breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For
God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus
Christ,
(We
are not
of the darkness:
Amos 5:18 Woe unto
you that desire the day of the Lord!
to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord
is darkness, and not light.
Joel 2:2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a
day of clouds and of thick darkness,
as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there
hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the
years of many generations.
Isaiah 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise
upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.)
1 Thessalonians 1:10 And
to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus,
which delivered us from the wrath to
come.
Romans 5:9 Much more
then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
The resurrection of the sons of God (salvation- Rom.13:11)
will occur before the wrath of God. Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now
justified by his blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through him. 1 Thes.5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thes.1:10 And to wait
for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
What wrath is coming?
Luke 3:7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to
be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from
the wrath to come?
Luke 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to
them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the
land, and wrath upon this people.
Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart
treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the
righteous judgment of God;
Rev. 6:16,17 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on
us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the
wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be
able to stand?
Ephes. 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for
because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of
disobedience.
Where is the wrath coming to?
Rev. 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple
saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath
of God upon the earth.
Rev. 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience,
I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Jeremiah 10:10 But the Lord is the true God, he is the
living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the
nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her
place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Psalm 78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his
anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among
them. With--Rev.12:12 Therefore rejoice,
ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe
to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down
unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Must Endure to the End:
1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and
safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with
child; and they shall not escape.
Jeremiah 30:7 Alas!
for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's
trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
(Rev.7:14 came out of great tribulation)
Jeremiah 8:20 The
harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
Deuteronomy 4:30 When
thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the
latter days, if thou turn to the Lord
thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
Luke 21:22-3 For
these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in
those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this
people.
Isaiah 51:17 Awake,
awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury; thou hast
drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.
Micah 7:9 I will
bear the indignation of the Lord,
because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute
judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his
righteousness.
Matthew 24:13 But he
that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
7. Resurrected
and taken up to heaven:
John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I
go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be
also.
John 14:18-19 I will
not leave you comfortless: I will come
to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more;
but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
John 14:21-23 He
that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he
that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will
manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot,
Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the
world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he
will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Col.3:1-4 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above,
where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your
affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye
are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ,
who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then
we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold,
I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In
a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall
sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Philippians 3:20-21 For
our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the
Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may
be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he
is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
In a figure- see
Peter’s vision in Acts 10:16,11:10, and Stephen in Acts 7:55-6.
Living saints raptured by the Lord himself &
resurrected don’t marry and have children- thus they are not repopulating the
kingdom.
Luke 20:34-6 And
Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given
in marriage: But they which shall be accounted
worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry,
nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for
they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children
of the resurrection.
Galatians 3:28 There
is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male
nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
1 John 3:1-2 Behold, what
manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world
knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we
the sons of God, and it doth not yet
appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be
like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Resurrected and stay on earth:
Job 19:25-26 For I
know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon
the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body,
yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Ezekiel 37:12 Therefore
prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God;
Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of
your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed
and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second
death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall
reign with him a thousand years.
reign on earth-

shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be
no end.

hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

earth marry and have children-

his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an
hundred years old shall be accursed.

out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry:
and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them,
and they shall not be small. Their children also shall be as
aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will
punish all that oppress them.
Ezekiel 37:25-26 And
they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein
your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their
children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be
their prince for ever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace
with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place
them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for
evermore.
Ezekiel 47:22 And it
shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you,
and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among
you: and they shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of
Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.

highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring

there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there;
but the redeemed shall walk there:

shall they know that I am the Lord
their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I

country.
Ezekiel 39:28-29 Then
shall they know that I am the Lord
their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I
have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more
there. Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I
have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord God.
8. Wedding
of bride- (as mentioned before the church is not Israel)
Ephesians 5:30-32 For
we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For
this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto
his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great
mystery: but I speak concerning Christ
and the church.
Luke 12:36 And ye
yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he
cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
Matthew 25:1-10 Then shall the
kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went
forth to meet the bridegroom. And
five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were
foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the
wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the
bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at
midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet
him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And
the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone
out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not
enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for
yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came;
and they that were ready went in with
him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Revelation 19:7-9 Let
us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is
come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was
granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine
linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me,
Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Revelation 21:2 And
I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Joel 2:16 Gather the
people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children,
and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber,
and the bride out of her closet.
Friends of the Bridegroom:
Also refer to Matthew 25:1-10 above- the 10 virgins
are not the bride.
John 3:29 He that
hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which
standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice:
this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
Matthew 9:15 And
Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as
the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall
be taken from them, and then shall they fast. (Mk.2:19-20)
Matthew 11:11 Verily
I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a
greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom
of heaven is greater than he.
9. All the church resurrected and changed (thus do not marry and bear children):
Luke 20:34-6 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Philippians 3:20-21 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
2 Corinthians 5:4-5 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
Jews who never die but endure to the end multiply in the land of Israel:
Isaiah 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
Isaiah 60:22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time.
Isaiah 65:23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.
Jeremiah 3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Lord: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
Jeremiah 23:3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
Jeremiah 30:19-20 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. [20] Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
Jeremiah 32:38-40 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
Ezekiel 36:10-11 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded: And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel 37:25-26 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. [26] Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
Zechariah 8:3-6 Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes
