Andy Stanley- Evidentialism run amok

In an attempt to 'defend the faith' Andy Stanley shamelessly and hopefully ignorantly assaults the bible and exalts science.

I think Stanley is trying to sound like a 'man of science' and he comes way to close for my comfort, of sounding like someone who doesn't believe in the inerrancy of scripture. He says this in his sermon:

This is at best misleading and at worst blaspheming the word. This part actually makes me angry listening to him trying to help the bible. He said 'the 1st, 2nd and 3rd century Christians believed Jesus loved them before the bible told them so. And he misleads because he means 'the scripture' in its canonized state, while the churches were copying and sharing all the New Testament books (2 Pt.3:15-16, 1 Thess.5:27, Col.4:16, Rev.1:11,3:22) and had the Old Testament scripture. So they believed 'the bible' in that sense (Lk.24:25-7, 44-45).

He says 'Christianity doesn't hang by the thread of  'the bible tells me so'. (The more sure word of prophecy is a thread?) He is trying to be progressive and he is progressing beyond his reverence of scripture. His last 3 or 4 minutes sound like vain jangling while he denigrates the scripture exalting evidentialism. It looks like this is where evidentialism leads. His argument condenses to 'We don't believe Jesus loves us because the bible tells us so, rather we believe it because Luke, and Paul, and John tell us.' (...umm, aren't their epistles part of the bible? Thanks for that nugget Andy.)

I would be afraid to say what he says in the last 5 minutes.

Scary days we are in.

Here is Andy again persisting in this downward path to undermine the scriptures:

update:
Here is Andy being confronted about his 'unhitch from the Old Testament' approach with some mild presuppositionalism by Jeff Durbin. Clearly Andy does not understand the Transcendental Argument nor the weak situation his 'resurrection event' apologetic leaves the Christian in.

Here is the example that Jeff refers to in their discussion in an interview of William Lane Craig by Ben Shapiro.
about 36 minute mark-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL-zJzE5clA
Ben dismisses the historical recording of the resurrection of Christ by likening it to a current Jewish sect who believes a rabbi who died in the 1990's is still alive and is the Messiah.
Facts need a framework in order to be accepted.
